Colorado Wildflowers

In July, while photographing a family in Telluride, CO, I took an extra day, rented a Jeep and explored some of the backroads in the San Juan Mountains. While hiking uphill near where a stream was flowing down, I came upon this bed of wildflowers with a variety of colors like I had never seen in AZ. Using a tripod, I was able to keep the flowers in focus from front to back, by shooting with a small aperture. I framed the image so as to create wall-to-wall color. This image was an unexpected bonus, since at this time, I had no idea that mid-summer was actually the best time for wildflower photography in Colorado.
